Τις δράσεις και τις πρωτοβουλίες που αναπτύσσει η Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας με στόχο την προώθηση της κυκλικής οικονομίας παρουσίασε το Περιφερειακό Ταμείο Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας στο πλαίσιο της συμμετοχής του στο 8ο Συνέδριο της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Διαχείρισης Στερεών Αποβλήτων (ΕΕΔΣΑ) με θέμα “Κυκλικές πόλεις και διαχείριση στερεών αποβλήτων- Οι προκλήσεις για την Κοινωνία, τους Φορείς, την Πολιτεία” που πραγματοποιήθηκε τον περασμένο Σεπτέμβριο στην Αθήνα.
Το Περιφερειακό Ταμείο Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας συμμετείχε με την παρουσίαση «Η προώθηση της κυκλικής οικονομίας στην Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας», κατά τη δεύτερη μέρα διεξαγωγής του συνεδρίου και στο πλαίσιο της συνεδρίας με τίτλο «Ο ρόλος των τοπικών αρχών και των πόλεων για την επίτευξη κυκλικότητας σε τοπικό επίπεδο – Κυκλικές Πόλεις». Κατά την παρουσίαση τους, οι εκπρόσωποι του Περιφερειακού Ταμείου Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας αναφέρθηκαν εκτενώς στη συμμετοχή του φορέα ως εταίρος στα έργα “CITISYSTEM”, “DeCo” και “FISSH”, που συγχρηματοδοτούνται από το πρόγραμμα Interreg Europe 2021-2027. Επίσης, παρουσιάστηκε η εξέλιξη και τα αποτελέσματα της συνεργασίας με την Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας στην Πρωτοβουλία “Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI)” καθώς και η Μελέτη του ΟΟΣΑ στο πλαίσιο του Προγράμματος Κυκλικής Οικονομίας σε Πόλεις και Περιφέρειες (Programme on the Circular Economy in Cities and Regions), υπογραμμίζοντας τη σημαντική πρόοδο που έχει σημειωθεί τα τελευταία χρόνια στην Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας ως προς την εφαρμογή της κυκλικής οικονομίας και την προώθηση του συγκεκριμένου μοντέλου διακυβέρνησης και ανάπτυξης.
Αξίζει, ακόμη, να σημειωθεί ότι στην τελετή έναρξης και στις εργασίες του 8ου Συνεδρίου της ΕΕΔΣΑ συμμετείχαν πολλοί εκπρόσωποι της πολιτικής ηγεσίας καθώς και θεσμικών, επαγγελματικών και επιστημονικών φορέων, οι οποίοι κατά τις παρεμβάσεις τους αναφέρθηκαν στις θετικές εξελίξεις και στις βασικές προκλήσεις που πρέπει να αντιμετωπιστούν στους τομείς της κυκλικής οικονομίας και της περιβαλλοντικής διαχείρισης στην Ελλάδα.
Το 8ο Συνέδριο της ΕΕΔΣΑ φιλοξένησε τέσσερα (4) Τραπέζια Διαλόγου: «Δημόσιες Πολιτικές για την επιτάχυνση της μετάβασης της χώρας στην Κυκλική Οικονομία», «Κυκλική Οικονομία στις Πόλεις», «Ενεργειακή αξιοποίηση αστικών βιοαποβλήτων με έμφαση στο ρόλο του ιδιωτικού τομέα και τις δυνατότητες συνεπεξεργασίας με αγροτοκτηνοτροφικά» και «Σύγχρονες ανάγκες, καινοτόμες λύσεις στην Εναλλακτική Διαχείριση Αποβλήτων και Νέα Ρεύματα». Τα συμπεράσματα και οι εφαρμόσιμες προτάσεις που διατυπώθηκαν στο πλαίσιο του συνεδρίου με στόχο τη μετάβαση στην κυκλική οικονομία πρόκειται να δημοσιευθούν σε ειδική έκδοση.

The actions and initiatives developed by the Region of Central Macedonia to promote the circular economy were presented by the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia in the framework of its participation in the 8th Conference of the Hellenic Solid Waste Management Association (EEDSA) on “Circular Cities and Solid Waste Management – The Challenges for Society, the Authorities, the State”, which took place last September in Athens.
The Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia participated with the presentation “Promoting the Circular Economy in the Region of Central Macedonia”, during the second day of the conference and in the context of the session entitled “The role of local authorities and cities in achieving circularity at local level – Circular Cities”. During their presentation, the representatives of the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia referred extensively to the participation of the institution as a partner in the projects “CITISYSTEM”, “DeCo” and “FISSH”, co-funded by the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 programme. Also, the development and results of the cooperation with the Region of Central Macedonia in the “Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI)” and the OECD Study in the framework of the Programme on the Circular Economy in Cities and Regions were presented, highlighting the significant progress that has been made in recent years in the Region of Central Macedonia in the implementation of the circular economy and the promotion of this governance and development model.
It is also worth noting that the opening ceremony and the proceedings of the 8th Conference of the EEDSA were attended by many representatives of the political leadership as well as institutional, professional and scientific bodies, who during their interventions referred to the positive developments and the main challenges that need to be addressed in the fields of circular economy and environmental management in Greece.
The 8th EEDSA Conference hosted four (4) Dialogue Tables: “Public Policies for Accelerating the Country’s Transition to the Circular Economy”, “Circular Economy in Cities”, “Energy recovery of municipal bio-waste with emphasis on the role of the private sector and co-processing possibilities with agro-food” and “Contemporary needs, innovative solutions in Alternative Waste Management and New Streams”. The conclusions and applicable proposals formulated in the context of the conference aiming at the transition to the circular economy are to be published in a special publication.
