Την τέταρτη συνάντηση των μελών της Περιφερειακής Ομάδας Υποστήριξης/Regional Stakeholders’ Group (RSG) του έργου “UrbCitizenPower” (Empower citizens for agency as driver for change in cities) διοργάνωσε στη Θεσσαλονίκη το Περιφερειακό Ταμείο Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας με την υποστήριξη της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας.
Υπενθυμίζεται ότι το έργο UrbCitizenPower στοχεύει στην ενδυνάμωση των πολιτών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, ώστε να είναι σε θέση να αναλάβουν οι ίδιοι δράση σε τρέχοντα και σημαντικά κοινωνικά ζητήματα. Συγχρηματοδοτείται από το πρόγραμμα Interreg Europe και η διάρκεια υλοποίησής του είναι 48 μήνες (έως 31/03/2028). Το εταιρικό σχήμα του έργου περιλαμβάνει συνολικά οκτώ εταίρους από επτά Περιφέρειες ευρωπαϊκών κρατών (Γερμανία, Φινλανδία, Σλοβακία, Ελλάδα, Ολλανδία, Πορτογαλία και Δανία).
Στην τέταρτη συνάντηση των μελών της Περιφερειακής Ομάδας Υποστήριξης του έργου UrbCitizenPower, την οποία διοργάνωσε το Περιφερειακό Ταμείο Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας με την υποστήριξη της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας πριν από λίγες ημέρεςστο Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης MOMUS στη Θεσσαλονίκη, συμμετείχαν εκπρόσωποι φορέων της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης, της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας και της κοινωνίας των πολιτών.
Η εν λόγω συνάντηση ανέδειξε τη σημασία που έχει οι πολίτες να ενδυναμώνονται στοχευμένα όχι απλώς ως συμμετέχοντες στα κοινωνικά δρώμενα αλλά και ως συν-διαμορφωτές και συν-δημιουργοί των συνθηκών διαβίωσης και ανάπτυξης στις πόλεις στις οποίες ζουν. Στο επίκεντρο της δράσης βρέθηκαν οι βιώσιμες πρακτικές που μπορούν να εφαρμοστούν άμεσα σε τοπικό επίπεδο. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στη συμμετοχική προσέγγιση του σχεδιασμού, όπου μικρής κλίμακας παρεμβάσεις, όπως η ενεργοποίηση ανενεργών αστικών χώρων, οι πρωτοβουλίες επαναχρησιμοποίησης και επισκευής πόρων καθώς και οι «πράσινες» παρεμβάσεις σε γειτονιές μπορούν να έχουν ουσιαστικό αντίκτυπο συμβάλλοντας στη βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής και της καθημερινότητας των πολιτών.
Κοινό συμπέρασμα από τις εργασίες της συνάντησης ήταν ότι «η βιωσιμότητα δεν αποτελεί μόνο τεχνικό ζητούμενο, αλλά συλλογική διαδικασία που βασίζεται στη συνεργασία και την ενεργή συμμετοχή». Ξεχωριστή θέση στη συζήτηση κατείχε η σύνδεση του έργου UrbCitizenPower με την πρωτοβουλία “New European Bauhaus”, η οποία προωθεί ένα νέο μοντέλο ανάπτυξης που συνδυάζει τη βιωσιμότητα, την αισθητική και τη συμπερίληψη -κοινωνική συνοχή. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο παρουσιάστηκε και η ανάπτυξη της «πυξίδας», ενός εργαλείου που φιλοδοξεί να καθοδηγήσει τον σχεδιασμό δράσεων με βάση τις αρχές αυτές, γεφυρώνοντας τη θεωρία με την πρακτική εφαρμογή.
Η Περιφερειακή Ομάδα Υποστήριξης του UrbCitizenPower ανανέωσε το ραντεβού της για το πέμπτο εξάμηνο του έργου. Τα μέλη της ομάδας υπογράμμισαν τη δέσμευσή τους για τη διαρκή αναζήτηση και καταγραφή κι άλλων καλών πρακτικών και δυνατοτήτων συνεργειών με στόχο την καλύτερη δυνατή υλοποίηση του έργου.

The fourth meeting of the Regional Stakeholders’ Group (RSG) of the project “UrbCitizenPower” (Empower citizens for agency as a driver for change in cities) was organized in Thessaloniki by the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia, with the support of the Region of Central Macedonia.
It is recalled that the UrbCitizenPower project aims to empower citizens of the European Union so that they are able to take action themselves on current and important social issues. It is co-funded by the Interreg Europe programme, and its implementation duration is 48 months (until March 31, 2028). The project partnership consists of a total of eight partners from seven regions of European countries (Germany, Finland, Slovakia, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Denmark).
At the fourth meeting of the Regional Stakeholders’ Group of the UrbCitizenPower project, organized by the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia with the support of the Region of Central Macedonia a few days ago at the MOMus Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, representatives of local government, the academic community, and civil society participated.
The meeting highlighted the importance of empowering citizens in a targeted way, not merely as participants in social activities, but also as co-shapers and co-creators of living conditions and development in the cities where they live. The focus was on sustainable practices that can be implemented immediately at the local level. Particular emphasis was placed on the participatory approach to design, where small-scale interventions, such as activating underused urban spaces, initiatives for reuse and repair of resources, as well as “green” neighborhood interventions, can have a meaningful impact by contributing to the improvement of citizens’ quality of life and everyday living conditions.
A common conclusion from the meeting was that “sustainability is not only a technical objective, but also a collective process based on collaboration and active participation.” A key point of discussion was the connection of the UrbCitizenPower project with the “New European Bauhaus” initiative, which promotes a new development model combining sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion/social cohesion. In this context, the development of the “compass” was also presented, an initiative aiming to guide the design of actions based on these principles, bridging theory with practical implementation.
The Regional Stakeholders’ Group of UrbCitizenPower renewed its appointment for the fifth semester of the project. The members of the group emphasized their commitment to continuously seeking and documenting further good practices and opportunities for synergies, with the aim of achieving the best possible implementation of the project.
