Υπενθυμίζεται ότι το έργο DeCo– “Design Collaboration for Sustainable Businesses” συγχρηματοδοτείται από το πρόγραμμα Interreg Europe 2021 – 2027 με στόχο τη βελτίωση των τοπικών, εθνικών και περιφερειακών αναπτυξιακών πολιτικών, μέσω της ανταλλαγής εμπειριών και καινοτόμων προσεγγίσεων και μέσω της ανάπτυξης δεξιοτήτων στον αειφόρο και κυκλικό σχεδιασμό, στην παραγωγή και στη μεταποίηση.
Το έργο “DeCo” συμβάλλει στην επίτευξη των στόχων που έχει θέσει η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση για τη μείωση των εκπομπών στο περιβάλλον καθώς και στην υποστήριξη της πρότασης της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής για την καθιέρωση των βιώσιμων προϊόντων ως κανόνα στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, την ενίσχυση των κυκλικών επιχειρηματικών μοντέλων και την ενδυνάμωση των καταναλωτών για την πράσινη μετάβαση.
Εκπρόσωποι φορέων της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας, της δημόσιας διοίκησης και του επιχειρηματικού κόσμου, καθώς και πολλοί ακόμη ενδιαφερόμενοι συμμετείχαν στη δεύτερη εκδήλωση προβολής του έργου “DeCo”, που συνδιοργάνωσαν η Περιφέρεια και το Περιφερειακό Ταμείο Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας σε συνεργασία με το Διεθνές Πανεπιστήμιο Ελλάδος, την Τρίτη 10 Μαρτίου 2026, στο Κέντρο Διάδοσης Ερευνητικών Αποτελεσμάτων του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΠΘ).
Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, παρουσιάστηκαν εκτενώς οι στόχοι και οι δράσεις του έργου “DeCo” , με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στη χαρτογράφηση της κυκλικότητας στις περιοχές υλοποίησης του έργου, καθώς και στις καλές πρακτικές που έχουν εντοπιστεί.
Κεντρικός ομιλητής στην εκδήλωση ήταν ο Ομότιμος Καθηγητής του ΑΠΘ Νικόλαος Κομνηνός, ο οποίος ανέλυσε ζητήματα που αφορούν στις ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας, τις λύσεις που είναι βασισμένες στη φύση και τα συστήματα περιβαλλοντικής παρακολούθησης που βρίσκουν εφαρμογή σε αστικό επίπεδο. Ο κ. Κομνηνός ανέδειξε ιδιαίτερα το ρόλο του σχεδιασμού στη δημιουργία πόλεων με ουδέτερο ισοζύγιο άνθρακα. Ακόμη, στη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης πραγματοποιήθηκε παρουσίαση για τη δυνατότητα ανάπτυξης πιλοτικής δράσης στην Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας και τη μεταφορά τεχνογνωσίας στο πλαίσιο του έργου “DeCo”. Η εκδήλωση ολοκληρώθηκε με ανοιχτή συζήτηση, όπου οι ομιλητές έδωσαν απαντήσεις στα ερωτήματα του κοινού και οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να ανταλλάξουν απόψεις και προτάσεις σχετικά με τα επόμενα βήματα στο σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση του έργου.

The second Dissemination Event of the project “DeCo” – “Design Collaboration for Sustainable Business” was organized in Thessaloniki by the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia, as a project partner, and the Region of Central Macedonia, as an Associated Policy Authority, in collaboration with the International Hellenic University.
It is recalled that the DeCo project – “Design Collaboration for Sustainable Businesses” is co-funded by the Interreg Europe 2021–2027 programme, aiming to improve local, national, and regional development policies through the exchange of experiences and innovative approaches, as well as through the development of skills in sustainable and circular design, production, and manufacturing.
The “DeCo” project contributes to achieving the goals set by the European Union for reducing environmental emissions, as well as supporting the European Commission’s proposal to establish sustainable products as the norm within the European Union, strengthen circular business models, and empower consumers for the green transition.
Representatives from academia, public administration, and the business sector, along with many other stakeholders, participated in the second dissemination event of the “DeCo” project, co-organized by the Region and the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia in collaboration with the International Hellenic University, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Research Dissemination Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
During the event, the objectives and actions of the “DeCo” project were presented in detail, with particular emphasis on mapping circularity in the project’s implementation areas, as well as on the good practices that have been identified.
The keynote speaker at the event was Emeritus Professor of AUTH, Nikolaos Komninos, who analyzed issues related to renewable energy sources, nature-based solutions, and environmental monitoring systems applied at the urban level. Mr. Komninos particularly highlighted the role of design in creating carbon-neutral cities. Additionally, during the event, a presentation was delivered on the potential development of a pilot action in the Region of Central Macedonia and the transfer of know-how within the framework of the “DeCo” project. The event concluded with an open discussion, where speakers answered questions from the audience and participants had the opportunity to exchange views and proposals regarding the next steps in the design and implementation of the project.
